Dear Kindergartens, welcome to The Princess and the Pea at Elefantteateret!

In dybwikdans’ version of the beloved fairytale The Princess and the Pea by H.C. Andersen, we meet a pea, a king, and possibly a princess. The king is searching for a princess. He doesn’t know that a pea might help him discover whether she is a real princess.

Through song, music, dance, and a bit of playful mischief, the ensemble invites the children into a fun and wondrous experience.

The performance premiered in England in 2016 and has since toured many theaters, both nationally and internationally, including a visit to Japan in 2022.

dybwikdans creates performing arts for children aged 0–5. Their productions are presented in the company’s own theater in Stavanger, Elefantteateret. In addition, the company tours throughout Europe and Asia. In 2024, dybwikdans was invited to New York with one of their productions.

The Princess and the Pea is part of the kindergarten project 100 GLADE dager.

The 100 GLADE dager project welcomes children to a variety of artistic activities where kindergarteners are invited to experience, explore, sense, and express themselves. The activities take place at Elefantteateret or in kindergartens in Stavanger and the surrounding areas.

The goal is to provide a rich and inclusive environment for ALL children in Stavanger through art and culture.

This project has been made possible thanks to a generous grant from Sparebankstiftelsen SR-Bank.
